Boring Series Update

There's nothing more boring than having to write a blog about the status of the series. Maybe I'll add a fun video . . . YES! Great idea. First: Series update I have been fortunate in the editing department as well as the interest department. Right now all I can say is that I believe the first season of The Queen's Wife will likely begin sooner than later! However, I don't have exact dates yet. I might try and push for the summer, maybe a May/June kick-off, so y'all have something fun to read during the long hours of the day. Worse case scenario - we will kick-off in September. One year late,...

Married Lez Guide to Valentine’s Day

Here's my ultimate guide to a successful Valentine's Day when you've been married for as long as your state has allowed it (so for us it would be 7+ years on top of 5 years of anarchy): 1. It's a work day! Yay! Wake up really really early to the romantic sound of the dog repeatedly licking his bum. 2. Realize that both you and your wife are coming down with some unknown sickness. (Since wifey is a teacher, it could be any nasty bug that young children have created in their homes with the sole purpose of coming to school to spread it to unsuspecting teachers and their spouses.) 3. Have...

America’s Next Audio Book Idol

I'm debating the idea of releasing each episode of the Queen's Wife as a podcast (along with the eBook formats). Although I'm not sure I'll do it, I have had a grand time practicing. Because of my love for music, it just so happens I have all of the software needed to create a stellar podcast. At first I dappled with GarageBand (provided on most mac computers). It didn't take long before I got bored with it and discovered it doesn't quite meet my needs for an audio book podcast. My main problem is the length of the recordings. GarageBand doesn't seem too happy with my length. I'm sure there's a way to fix this,...

Pesky Website Due Dilligence

If I were you, I'd ignore this post. Why? Because it is sure to be a snoozer. For the daring souls who signed up to receive the Queen's Wife series via email (THANK YOU!) I have changed over my mailing list provider. This is all in anticipation of the series being almost ready to head out into the real world. If you receive an email regarding your subscription, or a confirmation of your subscription, fear not. It's just the new system parsing in the previous subscribers. In the meantime, stay tuned for the series to hit off. Hopefully it will all be ready in time for some spring excitement...

Attack of the Lamp Monsters

With a little creativity, having the flu can actually be a fun time. For instance, when that fever is at its peak and you start questioning the reality of life it is at this time that writers should write. Why not? This weekend I found myself fortunate to have opened myself up to receiving the flu (thank you airline recirculated air). As the flu settled in for a nice holiday, it just so happened that there was a Stephen King marathon on. Nothing goes better together than a fever and Stephen King movies from the eighties. As I weaved in and out of delirium my cats turned into Cujo and attempted...

Zombies are boring

I don't care for Zombies. There I said it. I feel better now. My life can now continue as planned. Today, in history, the 7th billionth person will be born. This little kiddo will most likely be born in India, although I suspect the real 7th billionth kiddo will actually born in an Occupy_(CITY) tent camp. Nah. Just kidding. The kid probably will be born in India. It's a shame that we can't track and figure out who it is because that kid would be financially set for life. Think of all of those New Year's Babies and what they get? Now times that by 7 billion (yes, that's how my mind works). Meanwhile,...

Ah! Fall!

Here's what I need in life right now: the worlds biggest umbrella, tent, tarp, and/or force field. If someone could create one that will cover my yard for the next few weeks, that would be great. Then the leaves from my trees can fall and kindly ricochet off such a wondrous creation and land in my neighbors' yards. I'm super nice like that. It's the least I can do for my neighbors. This way they can enjoy all the beautiful colors that my trees piss down each and every year. Ah. Beauty. (**insert evil laugh** and I won't have to rake, mow, mulch, and compost it all!)

Healthy Sulfites?

I'm addicted to the following things: Music, movies, brightly colored ugly things, red wine, mocha, garlic, and lemon juice. I'm sure there are more things I'm addicted to, but for now this is the list. And then I discovered that my lemon juice has sulfites in it. I'll be the first to admit that perhaps I don't read ALL the labels I should. For instance, I conveniently ignore the chocolate syrup label. When an item says it's real lemon juice, I just assume it is. That's right, I am another fool who blindly gives in to great marketing in the grocery store. Finding out sulfites are in my lemon...

October rocks!

Why does October rock? Because I was born in this month. I'm pretty sure if you find anyone out there born in the month of October (especially those who are libras) they too will share the same sentiment. So for my birthday this year my wife bought herself a new mac. I'm not complaining. I'm just putting it out there that on my birthday she got a new mac. So what did I get? 3 cakes. Yep - 3 of them. :) Of course I didn't eat them all. In fact, I didn't even get to try them all. I had a nice chunk of the tiramisu and a piece of the chocolate fudge. I did not have the room for the large...
